“I love working with the kids at my church.”
- Michael
Overview: Michael planned, set up, and directed a back-to-school carnival for the congregation and a preschool that meets in the church. They learned the importance of community by playing games with each other, sharing a meal, and making new friends.

In Reflection: The carnival helped people to connect with one another in all age groups. There was intergenerational inclusion with all of the games and activities. There is great hope that this will be the first of many Back to School carnivals that bring together the Church and Preschool communities.

More Details: Michael brainstormed ideas considering different ideas for what his project would be. Ultimately deciding on the carnival as the best option. He learned how to coordinate an event and be a leader in his church. Michael loves working with younger kids. He is the doorkeeper at Sunday school at his church. The aim of the project was to get everyone from the church to come together as a community. There was a Cake Walk, Root Beer float, 6 carnival games, face painting, popcorn, and food. The carnival went so well that the church is making the carnival an annual event at the church.
